Farmall A Pneumatic Control Vlv Groove Pin (x2)

Hello. I have my Control Valve apart and in the process of digging out the years of CRUD. I saw in the parts list part no 27485H Groove pin (x2). What are these used for? ALso how or what is the best way to get all the crud out of the valve. Some of it seem like it has turned to rock.
Anything else I need to know about these valves please let me know. THANKS

I have fixed mine and have a book for them so will help if I can, but the best thing to do is wait a bit and a guy named Gene Bender will have the correct answer for you.
As for getting them cleaned out, I can't help there, mine had almost no rust in it. I think I would try some type of rust spray and a screw driver and just dig carefully.

I'm not sure what the groove pin is used for, but you can still get a groov pin from fastenal--there are a few different styles and many sizes.

there's always a way to fix it.
