Need a radiator for a farmall A serial #38740.All I find are radiators for serial # 41330 and up. My question is will the newer one fit? Purchased a new grille but it won't fit, again serial # 41330 and up. Please help

The early 40's tractors used dzus fasteners. The bracketing is different from the later A's. I would imagine you could get anything to fit if you removed all the brackets off the radiator you have and braze them to your new radiator. What is the matter with the old radiator? Is it just plugged up or totally destroyed. If it is just plugged, you can take it to a radiator shop and have them "rod" it out.

Dave the radiator is totally destroyed.Purchased a new grille and it does not fit. Need to purchase newer style radiator. Do you know if we are going to have hood problems?

Your old style turn screw type fasteners had a different top support for the radiator and the sheilds on the side of the radiator were different. So you need to remove the side panels fit them to a later style radiator of find the old style radiator. The sheet metal is the same size but fastens to the tractor different. Now you can replace with newer style radiator then go with all the latest sheet metal from gas tank to the grille. Or grind of the duex type fastener on the front of the gas tank and replace with a piece of angle iron then the hewer typw j-hooks will work. Ihave both types on my herd of As and Bs,BNs. Just sent my last old style radiator to another fellwo. There was one in MI for sale not too long ago. Place an ADD for the old radiator is one way for you to go too bad you didnt post about your problem first now you have parts you cant use. Mite want to give me a call 319-430-3907.
