I looked at a 340 utility the other day, serial number 545-P-AF-199. Was wondering what the letters stand for? Thank you, Kory

Kory; I looked in a parts book and the only letter that matches what you typed (both this post and Sunday's) is the letter P = Independent power take-off drive attachment-540 r.p.m.

The other letters and numbers are not listed in the 'Suffix Letter Code' Are the letters and numbers identical to the embossed text or do you suppose someone had added the other stuff for some personal reason???

Good luck w/your project.

I forgot to mention that the tractor appeared to be painted yellow at one time but is painted red now.

Ahhh, that would make a difference. This tractor had a life as a municipal employee. I would suggest you contact the Wisconsin State Histerical 8^) Society; use a search engine; and they can provide info for you. I also peeked in the 'Tractor Photos' using the 'Galleries' link on the left side of this web site. Using the 'Search' link; in the 'Search for' dialog box I typed International 340 and got the enclosed image - see link below. Maybe you already know of this feature. I have seen Perry.....post on this site. You could post asking for Perry...to respond to you. You gonna' refurbish/restore to a municipal tractor color, keep it red or use as is? How is it equipped? Did it come with its own fold-out cot? Enjoy your red iron!
