I am not sure if this has been posted before or not, but if it has then disregard. lol Just thought I would post that you can get a rebuilt 10si at Auto Zone for $29.99 plus $15 core. It has a one year warranty and is a Valucraft brand. The part number is 7127. Don't need to tell them any vehicle info, just tell them you need Auto Zone part number 7127. O'Reillys also has one for the same price, but it has what looks like a plastic fan mounted on it instead of a metal one. IMO this is a much better route than getting one from a junkyard and taking your chances. Last junkyard one I bought was up to $20.

7127 (usually followed by -3, -6, -9 or -12 to indicate "clock position of the output stud) is an industry-standard "lester number" for that alternator and is usuable at MANY other parts sources, as well.

Is it a one wire or three wire? Is it a big GM type alternator or a small one that will easily fit under most tractor hoods?

It is a 3 wire, which is all I use because I can make sure it gets excited without high rpm needed. It is the smaller Delco alternator that most use. It's not a tiny alt like a Hitachi or something similar.

Bob - The 10 SI rectifier end bell (and thus output stud location) is easily field "reclocked" to any of the 4 possible positions. It can even be done with the alternator installed on the engine.

RPC has 'em over at New Salisbury, but the last time I talked to them, they were about $79 + tax...and that's been a couple of years ago. BUT it'll also have the correct pulley for your application.
