Cleaning gas system on an H

It's time to go through the fuel system. Is there anyway to clean the particles and rust chips out of the tank without taking it off? What are the good methods/products for this?
I'd also imagine that I need to put some sealant on the threads of the sediment bowl when I put it back on. What sealants do you guys recommend?
Thanks

I would think it will be hard to do a good job on the tank without removing it. I have had mine down two or three times and it is not at all hard, just unhook the hood and take off the three nuts and springs that hold the tank down. I use gas approved teflon tape, but that may not be the best thing, I don't know. It has worked for me so far.

No there is no way to clean the tank without first removing it from the tractor, and the best way to clean it is to take it to a radiator shop and have it chemically cleaned, or go out and buy a couple gallons of muriatic acid and do it yourself. Pay no attention to the guys that will tell you to just fill the the tank with rocks, strap it to a rear wheel on a tractor and drive it around for awhile. That is absolutely the WORST thing you could do to that tank. Common, ordinary teflon tape will do the trick with the sediment bowl. If that doesn't work, you have more serious issues.
