I actually asked this question on an earlier post, but lost track of it. Does anyone know what month and year (approx) that IHC replaced the E4A mag with the F4 Mag?

Tom, From what I see there were a couple different E4A'S and than in 1933 not sure if a models mabe on F-12 The F-4 came out. But that to had changed and improved from the first ones out. I had an E4A on my '27 Regular and it would not spin freely. After get a price for rebuild I deceided to change the drive and put an F-4 on it and still does to day. I also have an early style F-4 on my '33 F-12. Hope this helps

i would say early 1930's. have a 1938 10-20 and it has an f4 mag. the earlier ones had the e4a. the w-30's have the f4 mag also.

Tom, the E4A's were replaced by F4's in April and May of 1934 but I cannot pin it down to a day. Each model seems to be a little different time in those two months.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. My recent F30 is a 1936, so the F4 it is (mag was missing).

So, when I finally find my regular, if it is 1934 or earlier, E4A it is!
