Super H ignition

Bought a non running Super H which has a magneto instead of distributor. Pulled the spark plug wire tower off expecting to find a rotor. Not one there. Are these readily available as separate items some where? I don't have any experience with mags. I have a Super A rotor which is not notched right to fit. Some days ago I noticed on this board a link to somewhere that has instructions on how to work with mags but i did not bookmark it. Could somebody post that again? I have searched and cant find it. Happy holidays and thanks.

The rotor is readily available through the CIH dealer or at ANY autoparts store that is willing to grab a paper copy of their Ag and Industrial Ignition catalog and look it up.

Here's the link to the Blue Ribbon Mag Service Manual.

Mag Manual

A rotor should be available from CaseIH, or many aftermarket places such as OEM Tractor Parts and Steiners, or Steel Wheel Ranch. Main difference with a mag is that it makes its own current, no battery connection, and has a fixed advance, that is no advance with increase in RPM. Points are set at 0.013 instead of 0.020 with a distributer. Timed about the same way as a distributer, only easier, far as I'm concerned. Instructions are in your Operators manual -- everything you need to know. As far as operation, unless you really have a load, you won't notice the difference.
