Got my 1586 a few weeks ago - its a fixer upper but I'm excited to have an 86 series - it was THE tractor to have when I was a kid. Started it up today - runs good- but I have oil drops coming out the blowby tube and a little oil dripped out the exhaust manifold from the seam where the peices meet. I was figuring on overhauling it if needed, but I cant believe that it runs and starts that good while blowing oil out the tube. Am I missing something, oil pressure is great - runs like a champ - started at 25 with no help. This tractor hasnt done much for a few years.

The exaust "oil" could be just be raw, unburned fuel from prolonged "idling","poopin'around".Open him up,put him to work.get him up to operating temp for a few hours. That may be all it needs to "fix" the problem.

Your engine is "swamped" with unburned fuel; actually, more than normal 'cause your seeing it out the draft tube also.

Totally normal occurance. That tractor just needs to go to work.

Glad to hear your 1586 starts good. We had one and it was the worst starting tractor we had. The old 1066 would start just about anytime but not the 1586.

Timis! Change the oil to IH #1 engine oil and work the hell out of you you will most liky fix the problem. I know of an 1086 that run 8000 Hrs, on IH # 1 engine oil.
