Draining/replacing 706 Farmall Hydraulic oil.

I just bought it, and the oil is really milky. It has an old front end loader. Going to drain and replace H oil and filter. I want opinions on what to use in it, and whether to flush system with diesel. Thanks for your opinions.

(quoted from post at 16:52:33 12/25/10) I would drain and flush system with diesel fuel. Replace with Case IH hy-tran oil.

There will be about two gallons of oil throughout the tractor that will not come out when it is drained. If by flushing you are merely pouring something in the case and letting it drain out you not be accomplishing very much. If you use a flushing agent and run the tractor then about two gallons of whatever you use for the flush will be left in the tractor.

THe tractor alone holds 17 gallons, not to mention the loader. Im guessing a good portion of the water is going to be on the bottom of the case, consequently a good deal of it would be going out the drain. I would have to go through some fresh hydraulic oil to flush rest of the diesel. Wouldnt that be accomplishing quite a bit? Thanks Guys.
What was used in that tractor when it was new?
