How to lock a fast hitch into place???

The 460 hitch has cast collars on the lift links that can be locked with a 1/2" square head set screw. They eliminates float. The Fast Hitch sockets have 3/4" pins that can be pulled to allow the socket to rotate up. I think both of these features were meant for ground engaging tools such as plows and harrows. May be helpful for a rear blade under some conditions.

The anti-sway bar also has a removable pin to allow sideways movement.

When you use the word "lock" referring to a Fast Hitch, I think about the 300-400 draft position cylinder. It can be removed (or not) and the front end of the bail can be locked up with a pin.

There may be other "locks". An operator's manual would help you set up your hitch the way you want it.

There are also socket latches but I am assuming you are not referring to those.

On each side of the rockshaft againest the rear housing are cast pieces, the left one (near traction control handle) has the ear facing the inside rear tire for the 5/8 pin remove the pin from clevis on arm and move solid arm ahead & re-pin and the right one you slide the 1 1/8 pin from the whole adjustment arm thru it & install cotter pin or hitch clip. Two people or a jack will help cuz you have to hold & raise the hich at the same time. This locks the hitch at a set height (maybe 16-18") for using pull type implements. There are pics in the manual.

If you`re talking about putting it at the fixed position (standard drawbar height) for PTO use ,you have to remove the 2 drawbar lift links from the rockshaft by removing the pin from the eyebolt in the rockshaft on the left side and the 1" ??? pin that sticks through the rockshaft (with leveling crank on it) on the right side. Both of these lift links then get attached to the rockshaft bearing plates that are bolted to the side of the transmission housing. There will be a tab on the left side that you slip the lift link over and insert pin. On the right side there will be a hole in the bearing plate pretty much in line with the rockshaft. Stick the 1" pin withe the leveling screw into this hole and insert cotter pin. That should do it.

I bought an operators manual for it about a month ago but it doesn"t really mention much about the fast hitch? Is there a separate manual for that part of the tractor? Thanks!
