Old Style Light Switch Question

Did they make a light switch EXACTLY LIKE the one pictured below, but without the fuse holder?? I have a switch that came on my Super A that looks just like that one, but it doesn't have the place for a fuse. I hooked up the wires to the switch and I can't get the lights to work. Before I started troubleshooting, I thought I'd ask this question first. THANKS>

Yes. It was used on tractors that had a cutout type charging system and a separate fuse holder. It was used on the Super A and C, maybe others.

The front panel with a fuse holder, or hole for one, had a light switch with no fuse holder.
To diagnose the issue (usually faulty ground at the lights) just follow the voltage with a test light.
The light switch shown is a 4 position switch for a cutout relay (no voltage regulator) with a L= Low
H= High charge settings, For a VR equipped tractor, the switch should have three positions, and no second resistor. Jim

(quoted from post at 05:42:00 12/23/10) I like the way you think . . .

Just would like to double check and see if I have it wired correctly. Below is a picture of the way I wired it. Keep in mind that my switch is exactly like the one pictured with the external fuse holder in the dash. Thanks.

The diagram actually shows the rear light wire attached to the screw just to the left of where you have it. But I think there is a connector between those two screws, making them effectively the same. Otherwise, you match the diagram.

This one matches my B Farmall attachments and lighting book.
Term #1 (screw off of the bottom of the fuse)From D term on the Amp gauge.
Term #2 To Rear light
Term #3 To Front lights (Black)
Screw off of the bottom resistor...To Gen field (natural w/ black tracer)
