Is it possible to cross refernce part numbers for seals on older tractors to find modern day equilvilants. I feel like I pay way too much for these seals at dealers, and I am looking for other sources.
Thanks

sven, yes, if you have a seal number, most good auto parts stores can inerchange the old number to the modern equivelent seal,

Sven, if you go online to NAPA Auto Parts, and do a catalogue search, you can type in an IH part number for a seal or bearing, then select "interchange" and it will come up with SOME IH interchange parts. And, it gives you price and availability. Advance Auto has a similar set up for availability, etc. Also some IH dealers offer the same price and availability service online.
Best Regards,
Charlie

See the link, SKF used to be Chicago Rawhide. PDF file, Alphabetical and numeric. If your mouse has a center button, hold it down, move the mouse and then stop and hold the button down -- 400+ pages. NAPA can cross the CR number, if not SKF dealer.

if you can locate a local bearing distributor you will be surprised at the difference in cost
