I was wondering if a 706 fast hitch still has a standard drawbar, not the kind the hook up to the lift arms? Is the fast hitch system as "strong" as a regular 3 pt hitch? Thanks.

Yes, the 706 does have a standard drawbar, completely seperate from the fast hitch, and yes, the fast hitch is every bit as strong as a 3 point.

(quoted from post at 07:20:10 12/22/10) Thanks. From the factory they only had 1 hyd. remote right?
My fast hitch 706D came from the factory with a telescoping drawbar and 2 remotes.

curt depends on how the dealer ordered the hyd system. Could have 1 or 2 remote valves or maybe no fast hitch and 1 or 2 remotes.

Farmall 706s below S/N 12250 and International 706s below S/N 3000 would not normally have a standard drawbar with a two point hitch. There is no provision for the support bar below the PTO for those tractors. It does make it easy to remove the PTO spool valve with that set up.

As far as the cross drawbar that slides into the fast hitch arms go, it seems like if you had a real heavy load behind you and tried to stop, it may try to push up the lift arms creating a safety hazard. Will the arms not raise up unless the lever is moved. Just seems like it wouldn't be as safe or sturdy when you were say bushhoging up and down on a steep hill with a 20 ft batwing?

You should be able to lock the lift arms so that the drawbar is fixed. The trunion at the top of the adjustable arm pulls out of the lift arm and goes into a fixed hole.
