Has anybody adjusted the linkage on these loaders? The operators manual says it is a dealer only project, but they say that for a lot of easy stuff. I am sure the dealer wouldn't want much to do with it anyhow!
The machine creeps, but it usually does it the last direction you were going. Now that I think about it, this could be more of a drag/friction problem than an adjustment issue. If anybody has any thoughts feel free to share.
I just got it a couple weeks ago and I haven't gotten it to start yet. The PO said he had to put a heat lamp in the engine compartement when it was cold. Not a big fan of that idea and it didn't work for me anyhow. I gave it a big sniff of carb cleaner to try and bring some life to it and nothing. I pulled the plugs and it has spark. The plugs were really sooty and dry. This lead me to try the carb cleaner, but not even a pop with that. Any thoughts here are appreciated as well.

Which engine do you have? Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor and see if there's much suction on your hand. It there's not much suction you probably need to do a compression check. You need good intake manifold vacuum to pull that fuel into the engine. Spray some of that carburetor cleaner where the intake manifold
is mated to your engine to see if the engine fires. Could be a bad gasket or loose bolts or nuts on the intake manifold. One other thing is you may have fire to your plugs, but is it firing at the right time as the engine may have jumped time? Hal

I'm not really sure what motor it has. I know it's an Onan and the internet says it is a NHVC. I am more familiar with the Kohler type labels (ie KT17 etc) than Onan so I am not sure that is correct.
It has the downdraft carb. I also failed to mention I pulled the hose from the carb and the fuel pump is sending fuel to the carb. I have a call in to the PO to see if he can teach me something.

I will pull the hose off the top of it and check it out. I removed the air filter to spray the carb cleaner and you can hear the motor thumping, but that doesn't quantify the amount of suction.
I will pull out the compression tester if I ever get it running. I would really like to wash it off first because everything is REALLY oily and I don't want to get filthy or get that oily crap in the spark plug holes etc.
I will tell you from looking at the air filter that the whole thing needs a GOOD tuneup!!!

CRAZY amount of suction when you hold your hand over the intake of the carb. I will create a new post when I have more time.
