Hey guys,

I posted earlier about a little bit of anti freeze coming from the head gasket. I want to bring the tractor outside and powerwash some of the oil and grease off of it. Should I worry about powerwashing it knowing that their is a leak from the head gasket? Any advice is appreciated.

Power wash is fine, but be aware of what you are hitting with the jet spray. I would suggest taking the plug wires off, and putting a heavy plastic bag on the distributor or mag.

I borrowed a steam Jenny to clean up a H before painting. MUCH preferred in my mind to sandblasting. Power washer would work too, just remember that it will take the paint off if you get too close. It will also distort sheet metal and poke a hole in the radiator.

If you are careful, it is actually a good way to go from my perspective.

as always, IMHO.

Whenever I pressure wash something with a gas engine I always leave the engine running. That way if I get too close to something that shouldn't get wet it the engine will start to sputter & I know not to wash there or will wait till the engine is running smoothly again before hitting the area again with the washer.
