I would like to gain power by raising my compression and whould appeciate yalls experience on how high i can run on premium pump fuel.
Thanks in advance.

Slow running engines cannot use either advanced timing or as much high compression as 6000 rpm car engines. The flame front travels at a speed that can cause spark knock easily. With good gasket placement to avoid hot ignition points, a cold spark plug, and 101 LL av gas, I imagine an 8.5 or 9:1 CR would be doable for pulling only. Just a guess, as reality trumps theory. A three main bearing 4 cyl non dynamically balanced assembly will not live at high enough Rs to do 10:1 (opinion) Jim
