I have a 6v, J4 magneto cub, I have several oil leaks I just can't pin point where the source of the leak is. I pressure cleaned it several times but still can't pin pint the source. Leaks are some were in the back and different spots on the motor

Anyone have any tips/tricks on how to locate the source of these leaks. I appreciate your help, tips, and valuable time.

Merry Christmas

mine was leaking from oil pump gasket behind the flywheel. if you change the oil pump gasket, make sure to use a gasket of original thickness so oil will not go around the sides of pump gears. good luck, d.coleman

Oil leaks just need to to chased down and assessed for seriousness. Since any gasket or seal is a possible source, only a careful visual examination of the surface castings will lead you to the source. If the leak at the rear of the engine is only visible at the extreme bottom of the clutch housing cover, then you may have a leaking rear crankshaft seal. Before correcting oil leak problems, make an assessment whether the leak is bad enough to justify correcting it. Some leaks are just seeps and minor in nature and not serious problems. Others which are dripping at a steady rate should be addressed since they could result in low engine oil level and more serious engine damage.
