Hello. Got a question for you about replacing the Shock on the seat for my Farmall Super C. How does the "barbell looking piece come apart, does it? What parts should I replace and were is best place to get them? THANKS ALL

is the bar bell piece your talking about in the seat hing? if it is there is a bolt on each side that has to come out, the seat hing will lift up and in the middle there are two rubber bushings that will need to be replaced, and a small pipe. you can buy just the bushings or get the whole assembly. if you want used ones i have the bolts and pipe and a good shock for $10

CaseIHFordNH has the parts, as well as some of the after-market folks.

My experience with that one was that I wrenched the two bolts against each other until one gave. I was able to remove it. With no way to hold that threaded center piece/bushing to keep it from turning inside the rubber, I wound up having to grind off the other bolt head to be able to pry the center -- bushing, rubber and all -- out, to make room for the replacement parts.

The "barbell" piece does actually come apart. I did the same thing back in October with my SC.

Here is the link to what I posted back then:

and it includes pictures of the new bushings I got.

The piece you are asking about is simply pressed together. I originally thought one side was threaded but it just a really tight connection. I ended up with one end in a vice and really cranking on the other end with a pair of channel locks until I finally worked it apart.

Good luck.
