3 point hitch falls !!!!

My 3 point hitch will not stay up unless I hold the lever in the raise position all the time. Its on a IH 504 Any ideas

Where the lever pivots could be too lose - Happened to me, one of the easist fixes ever.

The lever should stay wherever you leave it.

Are you saying the LEVER falls, causing the 3pt hitch to drop?

Follow the lever down and you should find some sort of friction device that is supposed to hold the lever in place. Odds are that friction device is out of adjustment, or has failed and needs to be replaced.
