Farmall cub will not start

This may be a stuipid Question but we are scratching are heads on this one.My friend has a Farmall cub that will not start(cranks over fine)This tractor will start if you pull it off.First thing I thought was low compression,we checked compression and It has 100 -115 across,This should be enough to start by itself. When Tractor runs It runs perfect. It has new carb, points, condensor, plugs.Any help would be greatly appricieated.

Sounds like not enough voltage to fire plugs.Clean all wire terminals and retighten. Must have large guage cable from Battery to starter.

You may have a voltage drop when you pull the starter in.Check the battery voltage at the posts before you attempt to start and then test at the posts when the starter is engaged. If your battery cables are good there shouldn't have more than 1-2 volt drop when the starter is engaged. If the connections are corroded or the cable has interior corrosion you may be dropping the voltage at the coil too much to get a good spark when the starter is engaged Clean all your battery connections. Another suggestion is check the timing you may have the spark a few degrees too advanced to allow it to start with the starter
