Super M power steering

What has everyone else done with adding power steering to a super M? We have a scrap M with a live hydraulic pump and steering kit but was wondering if there is much info on the factory live hydraulics that would allow us to use the M parts and put them on to the Super M.

We have another one Super M with a Char-lynn aftermarket kit and cant find many like it to take the parts off of.

If you were to go to the Ford forum you might be able to pick up on what I am researching. Is your model a wide front or a tricycle? I am currently working on Power steering for wide fronts which includes the fords and some of the older internationals, but the demand for the internationals has not been voiced at all since very few of the international and farmall have been configured for more front loading than originally designed to carry like front loaders and the like. So get hold of me and we may be able to take some of the research and engineering that is already complete and process and lets see what we can put together with more modern technology. Sincerely LarryT

steiners and oem tractor parts sell new torque generators, couplings, priority valves and mounting brackets, and also the priority flow control valve to use the live pump to run the power steering.

There is a complete Charlynn just listed on eBay. I probably shouldn't say "complete" as the photos are poor and there is no description. On top of that, the seller doesn't know a bolster from a holster.

Based on my previous dealings with him, he is unlikely to return your email. It's just as well. His wrenches only turn to the left. Don't think he has ever put anything together. But he has destroyed five 400-450 in the past several months.

I get a very bad feeling everytime I look at one of his auctions.

Ya its sure a wide front and actually we are putting a 1 tons dodge's front end onto it. We've done it with another Super M already. My grandpa has broken a lot of spindles and is just waiting for his tractors to break so thats why were putting a 1 ton on before it does break and adding power steering. Were hoping to find info if the M live hydraulic pump will fit a super M. I might just pull it and try it. Another option we shot around was putting a pickups power steering pump on and running it on the fan belt. My dad and I have access to plenty steering valves and torque generators, its just the pump and plumbing that were hung up on.

I'd like to see that tractor with the truck front-end..

The devoted PS pump is a better system. It generally requires cutting the fan shroud. But there are ways around that. You can mount the pump under the left side frame rail or piggy-back two pumps ahead of the distributer.

To run the power steering off the factory live pump, you need a PRIORITY VALVE, which splits the hydraulic flow into two circuits, one for steering (priority) and one for your remote valve.

And the guy is kind of a jerk too. Bought some stuff off him. Not very helpful with information and basically told me I was an idiot for coming to pick parts up from him when I was near him. Bought a used Saginaw 3 point off of Ebay a while back from him. What a jerk. Short with answers and not wiling to help a fella out. I don"t buy from him anymore.

Here is Dodge Ton and a half axle welded to the M's axle. We have inch by 2 inch in between them. The axle is flipped over and turned around. Canter and Camber and so forth might be a little off but wont be too bad with a stack tractor. We do this whole process just because we have problems snapping spindles. We left the tie rods for now till we get it under the tractor and we will then attach them to the steering later. Ill get a picture of the final product once we get it under and attached. We have another Super M kinda like this one but with a ton and a half jeep front end. Power steering will come next if we think this wide and taller tire configuration is just like the armstrong configuration.
