I bought a 460 diesel not running but not stuck . I was going to part it out but got thinking I could use another auger tractor . A gas tractor is much handier for that .What would be the easiest motor to convert it to gas .

Any 6-cylinder IH gas tractor engine can be put in a gas 460.

You're going to need a lot of parts to put a gas engine in a diesel. Front and rear engine mounting plates, most importantly. You may also need different frame rails.

It might be cheaper and easier to figure out what's wrong with the diesel engine.

i got a good running 460 diesel for sale that i am taking out of a pulling tractor. it has been sitting for about 6 months the guy said but we pulled it and cranked it up and i drove it around. run pretty good with not odd noises or anything. had 45lbs oil pressure by the guage.

Where are you located? I have been looking for a 460 in that condition. Is it for sale? I am in Central Iowa.

Thanks, my email is open.

Well I was always the 3 most important thing's in selling are location , Location and LOCATION .

For a auger tractor that sets out all winter I want a gas motor . If I can't change it fairly easy I'll just part it . I mainly bought it for the factory wide front anyway .
