Anyone know a source for these other than CIH? I imagine the answer is no but sometimes I get lucky. This would be the large screen cylinder that runs fully across the reservoir. I have one on hold at the dealership but just want to make sure they aren't sold elsewhere at half the price. Don't laugh...it happens!

Even TMTractor sends you off to the dealer, so I'm guessin' that's gonna be about it.

You say yours is in pieces??? Mine bas just plugged, puckered up, with a few tears in it. I suspect the damage happened in just about that order.

Yes. About 3/4 intact and the last little bit looks like someone stuck a firecracker in her. Mostly all attached but several pieces scattered about. Not real sure what would cause that as I see no moving parts. Pressure? Such a large screen should have enough outlets to relieve pressure. At $60 for a new one I would be interested in any possible ideas as to why she came apart. While it has a large surface are the screen is VERY fine. Don't care to blow up the new one.

It's hard to get it dirty in there, but it will condense moisture which, if settled, could freeze, I suppose, blocking the screen, or it might emulsify/gel up/get thick (especially if someone used a non-detergent motor oil, instead of a hydraulic oil which is formulated carry the moisture without thickening up), either of which could restrict flow through the screen sufficiently to bung it up.

Well bung it up it did!!! And as a warning to those who take a casual approach to hydraulic fluids in general, allow me to share this picture of an expensive part gone bad.
