M and IH 620 plow

There's an IH 620 2 bottom rollover plow for sale nearby. I don't know much about plows but have been thinking about one to rennovate a couple acres of marginal dry land pasture. Can my M handle this thing. I've got a three pt and extra remote.

My MTA pulls this 3-16" Jd rollover plow without much trouble. Although I do need about 600# of front weight to keep the front end on the ground. I would think any average would be able to pull a 2btm rollover.

The biggest problem you're going to have is lack of draft control, what gene bender was referring to as "float" I believe.

If your ground is consistent you can set the plow at a certain depth and pretty much forget it. However, ground is rarely consistent. Without draft control your plowing job is going to be a mess.

Talked to my neighbor (a real farmer) and understand what you guys mean about lack of draft control. I've seen many posts on this site that indicate guys are plowing with M's so how do they achieve draft control? Is there an after market solution?

Does it look like I made a mess out of my plow job?
YOU DON'T NEED draft controll. Yea, it's nice, but so long as you don't fall asleep, you'll be fine.
I put some depth stops on the cylinders of my 3 point, and have float on the controll valve for it. Once I get the depth set where I want it, I'd just drop the plow in and go. If it started to bog me down, I'd just bump it up an inch or so. No problem.
