Super H carb work on an H?

I"ve noticed the Super H"s as well as the 300"s, 350"s all have a larger carb than the H. Would the larger carb be better or on a distillate H with high compression pistons? Will they bolt right up to the H manifold? Power is always a plus, but the desiding factor for me to upgrade to the larger carb would be if they ran more smoothly.

The super H or an M carburetor WILL NOT bolt up to the original H manifold. You need a Super H, 300, or 350 manifold, OR an aftermarket replacement manifold with the slotted mounting holes. If you H is not running smoothly now, a bigger carburetor will not cure it. You have something else wrong.
 
Smooth can be adjuted with the stock carb if it is clean and the jets are correct. intake leaks, and magneto ignition cause rough running. If it is not an intake leak, and the engine is mag equipped, it will have full spark advance at idle and all speeds (it has only impulse retard for starting) Try a point/coil for smooth. If point coil equipped, check the centrifugal advance to assure it is operational, many springs have broken and rusted to useless. Jim

Nope. Wont bolt up. You'll have to change your whole manifold.
