Farmall B (please take it)

So my B has a cracked block, water in the crankcase. It has an exhaust lift attatchment and a set of cultivators. How much is it worth the way it sits? It runs fine but again the block is cracked. Anybody want to take this thing off my hands?

Where are you at, maybe describe the condition of the rest of the tractor and what price you'd like to get.

Good tin, Dent in the front grill. Tractor is in good shape and I cleaned it up a bit. Needs a paint job but really isnt ugly. Cultivator is complete, exhaust lift worked a few years ago but no longer does. Back wheels are a little weather checked but tread is excellent and new rubber up front.

If I hadn't bought my B 2 years ago Id be really really tempted as you're only 4 hours away from me!

My B had about and 8 inch crack in the block when I purchased it - right behind the carburetor. I went ahead and patched it but mine was no where near as long as your crack is.

With the cultivators and exhaust lift it's probably worth around $750 to $1000. You'll just have to decide how much you're willing to take off for the cracked block.

Just my 2 cents worth. Take it as you want.

I'd say your a tad high. I sold a good running B a few years ago for $1200 and the tires etc all where pretty good and no cracked block. Not trying to say what you should or may get just letting you know what they sell for in good condition in my area. Shoot $1500 is about tops for one in this area unless it looks very very good. Of course that does not include cultivators etc

I also sold a set of them for $150 and that set was front and back so a whole complete set up. But where you are makes a difference. Guy who got thew cultivators drove from NM just to pick them up

Are you sure your block is cracked? Had water in the crankcase of my Super A and it turned out that there was a leak at the bottom of a sleeve where the O-ring sits. The lower end of the (wet)sleeve was badly corroded. (When we started sandblasting the outside of the sleevewe blew a 1/4 inch hole in it...) So an overhaul will fix your leak.

I bought a Farmall A with a stuck engine and the 16-inch plow for $100.00. Hal
