farmall a transmission replacement

i need to replace farmall a transmission how can i find out if a 100 farmall trans will replace it.

It should work just fine. I do believe they are the same.

The A and B I think used the same trannys and maybe even the C. I have at least 2 of them laying around right now

The A and 100 transmissions are similar but not identical. Use the PTO from the 100 and you shouldn't run into any problems.

i got a parts farmall a with a transmission in it i'll take 50.00 for the tranny guts and the tranny case includued

You are correct sir, I do believe that the PTO runs left handed on the Farmall A, and does not on the 100. Right?

Ptos run the same

Oh ok. I had heard that the ptos were different and that was why the mower units were an L-42 and L-59 for the A. Never had one myself, but had heard that. Thanks for the clarification Gene.
