I need one of these!!!!!

I don't get on this forum every day, so on weekends I try to catch up. A few days back there was a post about tractor videos on You-Tube. One of my favorites is of the Fordson Sno-Motor. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a fun video to watch. I have watched it on Google videos. Type in Fordson snow machine or Fordson sno-motor. I know it's not an IH, but still very cool!

Yeah, what a pair! The Fordson Model F and the Armistead Sno-Motor conversion kit. (I've also seen it referred to as a "Sno-Devil," perhaps a variant manufactured by a competitor?)

I've seen that video referenced in several of the "old-iron" forums on the Internet, and someone invariably says the same thing you did. (I'd love to have one, too.)

A handful of these survive. I don't know if any of them are in operating condition.

Fordsons are pretty common; if someone were to start making reproduction conversion kits, do you think there would be enough demand to make a profit?

I'd buy one for my Fordson if such a kit were les than $1500 or so...

There's somebody's money-making idea for the day...

They are still making them.

When I look at my inventory, I have most of the parts to make one similar to the one above. In fact I have enough 30" pipe to make three. For me, it would have a very low priority so don't be waiting for pictures.

I would want enough displacement in the screws so that it could float a M sized tractor.

I prefer summer projects. Don't care for cold. Here is picture of a Wardner classic...the IH 120 balanced head mower hedge trimmer.

The Fordson conversion pictured (Maine Fordson) is on display at the Fred C. Heidrick Antique Ag Museum in Woodland, Calif. I was there about 3 weeks ago and that Fordson and the setting is something to see (along with the rest of the tractors and equipment). There is also a antique truck museum right next to it. Well worth the $5 to get in.
