Hi I"M working on 1939 farmall A (#3917) what emblems goes on the grill? mine is missing, also what color is the seat cover? thanks Pete

I believe that in 1939 the original seat cover would have been the black canvas, and I think, but don't know for sure, the grill emblem would be the unpainted "FARMALL" emblem. There seems to be some discrepancy as to wheter the emblem was painted or unpainted.

By the pics in the WHS website, the emblem was painted since the start of production. It shows As, and others, dated 1939 with the emblem painted. I see no discrepency.

I think that may be right (I have't checked) but in '39 there is a fairly high chance it started out with no cover.

YOUR SEAT CUSHION SHOULD BE BLACK AND THE EMBLEM SHOULD BE STEEL AND PAINTED, HOPE THIS HELPS.
