Part Number of Farmall 240 Hood Name Plate

Would someone with a Farmall 240 parts catalog please provide me the part no. of the name plate that goes on the side of the row crop model hood? The nameplate is metalic and has "FARMALL" on it and not the one for the utility International tractors. I'm looking for one and want to try and find one and think knowing the correct part no. will be very helpful to anyone with some NOS around. Also, anyone know a good source for the oval 240 model symbols which go on the sides of the front grille for the same tractor? Any responses will be most appreciated and maybe Santa might drop something by as I've tried to be extra good this year, Hal.

Rusty, thanks as I'm so used to just looking at my part catalogs but I don't have one yet for the 240. I'll give that a try and hope I can migrate my way through it, Hal.

Parts section of www.caseih.com, you can do it as easily as I can. Also, you can try a rather unlikely source when you get the numbers -- FP Smith Parts and Equipment in the San Francisco area, fpsmitheq.com, 800-558-7228, ext 23. You might try a parts search on their website. I ordered a NOS front cover for my Super A, yesterday. They bought a significant amount of the IH inventory when IH was merged with Case. Major company I had not heard of until last week when putting part numbers into Google -- you might try that also. There is no aftermarket for those, and not many 240"s built -- good luck.

Charles, thanks for the response and yes I think I had some brain gas as I knew that resource was out there. As I told Rusty, I'm so used to just looking in my part catalogs since I have them for all my Farmall tractors except for a 240 . One of the nice things about a 240 is that the number made is small (around 3500 or so) and you don't see a whole line of them at tractor shows. Also, having a list in your (hip pocket) when at the RPRU or other top quality show really gets you to look the "goodies" over very close and a great way to meet some new vendors. I've found the hunt sometimes is more fun then actually finding a rare item. Thanks again and I think some of your weather is about to blow in over here but it might be coming from the upper plains with the NW winds we've had all day, Hal.

Part # 12 on the 240 page in the book for [b:30db783073]Farmall[/b:30db783073] is... 369 058 R1
Fastener, tubular clip # is 370 786 R1 ... must need 6 per side because it lists 12ea.

Hal, have you added a 240 along side your Super C? The 240, and 340 were always my favorite right along the Super C's. I know my dad always wanted a 340, but never ran across the right deal on one, but they are fairly rare. I know where one is sitting now in pretty rough shape that a neighbor owned about 40 years ago. Appears to be several parts missing in the area of the engine, but have not gotten the right opportunity to stop and ask they owner now what his plans are for it.

Thanks very much for the part number information. I finally found it on the CaseIH website but I'm so used to looking in my part catalogs didn't give the website a thought until Rustyfarmall cleared the gas away from my brain. Thanks again, and do you have a Farmall 240, Hal?

I have a 240U, but my parts book shows the 200, 230 and 240 Farmall and the 240U. The 240U was not my first choice for my use, but it gets by. I had a S-55 Oliver and should have waited on a S-55 or 550 with a loader and PS... they were way ahead of their time.
