international 350 utility

i have never seen a 350 utility how much differnce is this to the 300 ? its in fair condition clean and straight not running he wants $500. its over 300 miles round trip is it worth the drive ????

Definetly worth the trip if it runs and has ok tires. There's no real difference from the 300 to the 350 utilitys. I'm sure somebody on here can share some more specifics

Slight differences. Same H derived engine with larger bore. Fast hitch (if equipped) with better (not great) draft control.

Great tractor. Power, or manual steering hav durability issues, so check the freeplay and turn when stopped effort. Use as a negotiation point. Replacement systems from Jacksonpowersteering or others is pricy. Jim

The biggest difference I have found is that the 300U clutch pedal pivots in front of the pedal and the 350U clutch pivots from the rear of the pedal.
This makes the 350U clutch depress a lot easier than the 300U.
The 350U came with longer steering pitman arms which helps manual steering.
I would stongly recommend getting power steering on either.
If the tires are rotten I would try to get a better price. But for $500 or less I think it would probably be worth the road trip.

I would want more details as to why it is not running. If it has been setting out in the weather, and the engine is stuck, you're in for another $700 to $800 for an engine kit. If the rear tires are no good, another $600 to $800.

Was going to add to my post but edit is down.

(Add) What ever you decide, do not send one penny in advance. If you strike a deal over the telephone and he won't hold it for a reasonable time till you get there, then take a pass on it.

I wasn't aware of the clutch pedal difference. I know that running my 300U for any length of time will make you walk funny when you get off. Especially the way I normally use it, which is a lot shifting between forward and reverse gears.

My Dad had a 350U when I was growing up and I now own a 300U - like the guys below said not much diffence. If it has a 2 pt hitch the 350 tractor hitches were better than the 300 hitches which is only an issue if you have some 2 pt hitch implements. I think a 350 has a little more horse power and I also think they came with larger rear tires. Our 350 had the hydraulic valves all placed back further on the side where as my 300 has 2 of the 3 too close to the front of the seat and creates a leg room issue when getting on and off the tractor. I would recommend taking a real close look at the steering. All those utility tractors if they had a loader at one time have steering issues which can be difficult to find parts for. I guess if I had to chose between the 2 I would take a 350 but a 300 will certainly work as well.
