Another Rip-Off!

This afternoon I was going through some things and came across a Franklin Mint Collector Knife my son and his wife gave me for Christmas a couple years ago. It is still in its case as I wouldn't want to ruin it, and it has rested in a special place ever since they gave it to me. Taking it out, I wiped it off and gave it a good looking over for nostalgia sake. On one side of the blade it says OEM which I doubt, but on the other side below "STAINLESS" it says "CHINA"! I don't know how much my kids paid for this, and I do appreciate their thoughtfulness, but I think they were ripped off by a company that relies on the American image. Please add your thoughts, at the moment I am VERY disappointed! Yeah, and I know it is just a knife, but it is the thought that counts--and they were taken!

gotta love stuff like that, back in July I went to get another American Flag to hang out at the house.... Sure enough the flag had a tag on it saying "made in China".

really America??? this place is goin down hill fassssssst.

Try and find any toys for kids anywhere that aren't made in China. It makes you sick to think of all the jobs lost.

Lego blocks are not made in Europe not China. They are a great toy. Especially, if you are seeking "Non-China" toys.

The wife went to wal-m the other day & brought home 2 red hankies. I looked at them--china. I told her to see what Farm & Fleet had when she went in next time. They still had USA made reds--she picked up several. So, still available.

Went to buy a new American Flag for wifes brother for Christmas for his flag pole outside. On the plastic wrapper where the bar code is, made in china.

My niece and her husband were in China about a year ago and watched a steady stream of loaded container ships leaving a harbor (I think Shanghia), most probably headed for the US. Don't know if his numbers are right or not, but he said Wally World owns 400,000 shipping containers. He said his "small by comparison" company owns 5,000, so he may be right.

My relitive gave me a Texas Ranger 150yr comemorative folding lock blede by Smith and Wesson (china)
Students gave me a thank you (after they graduated) Winchester branded three knife set. (china) reality is not ideal. They were junk in metalurgy and fit finish. Jim (very sad)

There was a segment some years ago on either 60 Minutes or ABC"s 20/20 about the Franklin Mint. It was an expose on how they sell things with some sort of gimmick and that in the end the "unique! special! limited edition!" item is not worth that much.

They advertise EVERYWHERE and that is a sure sign of a shammy company.
