Isn"t there some kind of seal on my cub fan hub? I don"t see any in the parts book or shop manual. Mine doesn"t leak much but I have it removed for painting and expected to find a seal. If I stand it on end the oil runs out, seems like there should be a seal ?????

I don't believe there is a seal. The reason they leak is they are too full of oil. The way the manual tells you to oil the fan hub is to put the screw to add oil at level[90 degrees] and fill with oil. Then turn the screw hole to the bottom and let the excess oil drain back out. This leaves just the right amount of oil in the hub and it shouldn't leak anymore.

There arent any seals in them and if the hub gets worn it will leak out the back. I have used a piece of leather and it did stop the leak. You have to take the fan assy apart.
