have a 1256 that is hard to start even sitting in warm shop had to use either. could this be injector problem/or timing. thanks

Could be several things..Is it spinning over fast enough when cranking?...How many hours are on the engine?...could be getting low on compression if it has a ton of hours on it...valves could be worn and out of spec..definitely could be an injection pump issue, I've replaced quite a few of those pumps over the years

Lashing the valves may help it a little, too.
