Cossing Part Numbers Spreadsheet/List

We are working to resolve the issue ASAP! Thanks for your patience!

I work on Farmall Cub, Super A, 100, 130, and 140 tractors quite often, and am always going to the local parts store to buy parts for them. I was wondering if anyone has a list or spreadsheet containing the commonly used parts for these tractors (and their equivalents). I have the CASE/IH parts catalouge, but that doesn't really help as far as part numbers go unless I was buying from CASE/IH ( and we all know how they mark up their prices). I usually shop at NAPA, Advance Auto Parts, and O'Reilly Auto Parts for the commoly used items such as plugs, points, condensor, rotor, dist. cap, oil filter, etc. and they usually have trouble finding the parts and crossing them over when I give them the CASE/IH part number. Sometimes I call CASE/IH to make sure the part numbers are still good and ask them as well to give me cross refernece numbers, but I'm sure they don't like dooing that. HAHA.

I was thinking someone has made them a list of the original numbers also with the cross refernece equivalent brand and part number. If not, I will be making one as soon as I get the parts for this tractor bought. If I end up making one, I will share it with anyone who is intrested to help make future purchases and findings more efficient and accurate.

THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!

Your first mistake is taking a number to Advanced or Oreallys, and expecting them to have a clue what youre asking about. Napa, OTOH, should ber able to cross the numbers with no problems! 9 times out of 10, you can find a cross reference online.

You are exactly right about that!! I know better, but since Advance is 2 miles away versus 14 miles to NAPA, it is hard to not want to check first. Plus, they might have the parts IF I already know the brand and part number (not something they would have to cross).

I also heard that NAPA might be fixing to get out of the Agriculture/Heavy Truck parts because it is just too much to keep up with and costs too much. But that is just hearsay too.

A spreadsheet would be sooo nice to have to use as a reference, instead of looking each part up and cossing it online every time, or asking forum members. It would be nice to have and very quick and efficient as well.

Al, the parts you listed aren't that expensive at CaseIH, some of the less common parts are. But at least you get quality parts. Bearings and seals are cheaper at a specialty bearing place. Why would you ask a CaseIH dealer to look up other manufacturers parts, even if they could? If you want cheap parts you can go to Tractor Supply, etc. NAPA is ok, if they know how to look them up. I'm just glad to be able to get parts, thus I don't complain about CaseIH.

This is going to take sometime. I have sheets full of Napa part numbers for many Farmall tractors. Here are the parts for a Super A.

Wisconsin Cowman:

Thank you soo much!!! This is exactly what I am looking for. I am thinking about finding a "one stop shop" (such as NAPA) for the majority of my parts if they have them that way I can try to open some sort of account and get a better deal on the parts. (I think some auto parts stores do that)

I really appreaciate you taking the time to type all of this out and send to me. If you have this stuff saved on your computer already, I would welcome you to just email it all to me. I would like to have the part numbers for the Cub, Super A, 100, 130, and 140 tractors.

I am planning on taking the numbers and info you have provided me with and compiling a spreadsheet for each tractor listing this information along with the original CASE/IH part number for reference. My email is as follows if you would like to email me the stuff you have in order to save a lot of time and typing. Thanks again.;

(quoted from post at 06:53:19 11/23/10) BTW...Napa, O'Reilly, Carquest, ect. ALL have marked up prices too. If they didn't they would be bankrupt!

Exactly!! And quite often that mark-up is such a low percentage that the profit won't hardly pay for the paper needed to print out the receipt.
