caps on 641 exhaust valves?

I just purchased a nice 641 locally and was trying to adjust the tappet clearance. All 4 exhaust valves seem to be recessed compared to the intakes. I have the large Ford repair manual and it shows caps which I don't think are on mine. The caps would raise the height so they wouldn't be so recessed. Should these be on the 641 exhaust valves? If yes; are they available new or do I have to find used caps? The head has been redone before I purchased the tractor and the engine runs well. Thanks in advance for any help.
