5488 what is it worth

We have a 5488 that has less than 100 hours on a rebuilt engine. The fuel pump was also rebuilt when the engine was rebuilt. The high side on the transmission went out this fall after the engine was rebuilt. The tractor is a 1983 model. The paint and decals are good. The tractor has duals and the tires have fair tread. The cab needs a headliner. The tractor is mechanically sound except for the high side clutch pack. What is the tractor worth as is. I would consider selling the tractor. If you really want to sell it I would have the transmission fixed and fix the headliner. Then you have a mechanically sound and decent looking tractor that you don't have to do any explaining about. With that fresh engine and the overall condition of the tractor I would fix it and keep it or sell it.

Depends if it has had all the updates to the transmission done. I cant say what the updates are but I know of guys who wont look at one unless you can verify the updates have been completed.

Does it have FWD?

Here is what I would give if I were in the market for a 5488.

The way it sits about 12,000 if you fix it, about 25,000 if it is a FWD.

Good condition with a rebuilt motor, good paint and tires, in overall good condition 2wd anywhere 14,000.00 to 19,000.00 . Front wheel assist 15,000.00 to 22,000.00 . Repair on the transmission could be anywhere from 1,500.00 to 7,000.00 depending on what's wrong with it.
