serial tag restoration

I have a serial tag that needs to be restored. Is there someone who specializes in serial number tags for farmalls? I thought I saw an advertisement in Red Power but now I cant find it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sam

OEM Tractor Parts (oemtractorparts.com) will sell you a new tag and you can get it either engraved or you can do it yourself.

The tags will be new, not restored -- Mrs. Robert G. Diener, 304-599-4027. Her husband died a while back. Apparantly still in business. OEM's are rather low quality. Easily scratched, holes out of line, etc.

I just pd for and got an expensive OEM tag and agree with CNKS. Holes out of alignment and the metal is alot lighter than the original. Pretty flimsy.

Sam, CNKS gave you the information you need. I have one on my SMTA that was restored about 5 years ago from Mr. Diener. As I recall in my conversation with him the plates are engraved by a jeweler for him and are nice, sharp and very clean cut. He wanted me to send the original s/n to make sure I received the same style and correct replacement plate and to verify he had the correct s/n. My original s/n plate was returned with the new replacement one. I have kept it along with my other restoration documentation on the tractor. If his wife is handling the business in the same manner I'm sure you will be pleased with the product, the service and attention to detail. It will come with new rivets to install in on your tractor. Hope this helps, Hal.
