Heres a new one.......F14 Cane??

Received and email from a gentleman this morning who claims he has what he beleives in a F14 Cane tractor. I didnt think they made the 12s and 14s in a high crop/cane version. Im thinking hes got a 14 with the 40" rears on it, but he also mention the high front axle, like on the HVs and MVs, etc. Im going after work to look at it, but did IH in fact make the 12s/14s in in "cane" version?

I am not familiar with it. But that don't mean a company like Thomson couldn't have converted one. I'd like to see it.

Oh well, nothing unusual about it. Just a 14 with a wide front. I tried to buy the thing from him, but wide fronts on about anything newer than say the -60s are pretty hard to come by around here anyways, at a minimum they are few and far between.

If I remember correctly from the "150 Years if IH" book, the F-series tractors could come from the factory with the dropped I-Beam axle that looked alot like the later hi-clearance axles, but I don't recall it being noted as anything but a wide front end on that series of tractors. Probably used in conjunction with a taller rear rim size. Of course, as always, I could be wrong...
