Farmall 460 carb problem

Why I do these things to myself I"ll never know... maybe it"s that I"m a glutten for punishment..

I bought a 460 farmall tonight. Kid I bought it from says he pulled the carb off and cleaned it and it "ran fine". I started by cleaning the fuel line out and now i have good flow to the carburetor. Pull out the choke and it starts right up. idles fine... pull the throttle and it sputters and dies. i"ve got a manual on order but in the mean time would like to get it running well enough that I can get it home. What is the rough in for the carburetor on a 460... and which screw is which. I know the bottom screw on the bowl is the load. I don"t know the other ones.

Would appreciate any help.

The other screws are idle mixture and idle speed. Idle speed is self explanatory, make it fast enough so that it runs smoothly and doesn't die. Maybe 4-600 rpm. Same way with the mixture, in or out until smooth. Lean is out rich is in. Turn the load screw 5 turns out, that is max power, it will run and get better fuel consumption turned in 1-1.5 turns, or whatever works. You do not adjust it as in the earlier models prior to the Super H/M. Which is in until rough, out until smooth. If you do that it will be too lean. If that does not work, you need to disassemble and clean it again, possibly it needs a kit.
