Have found a 1456 for sale says factory non ta how hard would it be to add. Tractor also has fenders over front tires are these from factory when built. Also is the 1456 a low production model i have not seen to many? Thanks

I would guess you would need to change the MCV, add the linkage, and I don't know what the difference is inside, but I doubt any machining would need done. I would say it could be done.

Weren't the 56 series all identical except the engines? Which were the German-built component, if so equipped?

They are an awesome tractor. My grandpa has one he bought new and it has over 18000hrs on it. Engine has been done once and he had the transmisson rebuilt. We use to to plow with. Those german diesels will last forever if they are taken care of right.

It may be possible to add TA but it would be MAJOR job. Probably be a lot cheaper and less stressful to wait until you find a good one with TA. Most of the TA delete tractors came out of Southern cotton country and have been ridden hard and put up wet. Around auctions they are known as Southern Belles.

Yes but WHY it is more uncommon to not have the TA than with one. Besides there are only 2 kinds those that are out and the ones going out.

It will require 2 splits to put it in plus lots of $ and lots of time. While your in there you might as well check everything else out too. No more work and it's already apart.

If it has a German built engine it is an unusual 1456. They were equipped with a DT407 engine, same as the 1256. They had a few changes to the engine to give it a little more HP.

They are a awesome tractor but they had a American DT 407 engine not a German. If it had a German motor, someone changed it to that probley out of a 826 but the german 358 would not have the power of the DT 407.
