Mounted sickle bar mower on an A

Well I have the BA out of the shop and now have the sickle bar mower hooked up to it. Only took 2 days to get it mounted and then found out I have to lower the back of it to hook up the PTO shaft. Oh well Ill take it back to the shop to do that and I also have to figure out how long the pit man stick needs to be so I can make one of them. Maybe by spring I'll have this little tractor ready to mow some hay I hope. LOL

With the pitman pivot point aiming at the sickle bar (shortest length), and the bar at the far end of its wear pattern (pretty easy to see) make a square stick from ash or hickory that will clamp into the brackets, but don't drill the holes. Use c clamps to hold it in place (or deck screws) and run it through several cycles by hand to check the stroke. Then adjust if needed and drill for the bolts. Jim

Rich, Send me a detail drawing of the arm you need. I have a complete woodshop here, bandsaw, J/P, Press, floor mounted belt/disc sander. I'll make you up a couple.

I'll try to get a few pictures later today. I sort of have it parked in the weeds since I want to keep the shop open since we use it for deer season and that starts Saturday
