Has anyone noticed the price F-12/14 fuel pumps are bringing on Ebay? I have seen 3 old pumps that need rebuilding sell for over 100.00 Now a NOS is close to 200.00 Is there a car or truck that use the same AC pump. Mabe there not going on tractor. oldiron29

It's probably another case of someone having more dollars than sense.

I think most of the parts in the repair kits can be used for some other pumps, but I can't say for sure if the pumps themselves fit anything else. I think some early IH trucks may have used these pumps.

Personally, I'd put 5 to 1 odds on that NOS one needing rebuilding before it's put on the tractor, or after it"s first hour or two of use. I went down that road with a couple of NOS ones for old Chevy's a few years back. The diaphrams tend to loose their elasticity over time, and some turn to rubbery goo.

The pump is an AC pump, not an IH, so I would assume it was made specifially for IH by AC, BUT I did see some that were pretty close replicas for late 40s early 50s Chevy trucks somewhere but they didnt have sediment bowls on them.

Ditto on the NOS comment. a few years back, I stumbled onto a couple NOS fuel pumps on ebay cheap ($20-$30). I bought both of them. Had a chance to use one this past summer. Worked great for 4 days, then diaphram separated. I replaced diaphram and all is well.

The good thing about NOS fuel pumps for the F12/F14 is that the rest of the pump is fine. Be prepared to replace the diaphram.

Lastly yes, I have noticed the price. Like everything else, the more people getting into these tractors, the more the price will go up. The other part of the equation is that no one is making new fuel pumps anymore that I am aware of. So, when people need them, they are at times willing to pay more. Look at it this way. IF you don't have a fuel pump, or the one you have is all corroded and toast, you really don't have a choice but to pay the going price. You might think that it is highway robbery (and it is to a point), but at the end of the day, you pay the price if you want the item.

as always, IMHO. PS, anyone notice the price of steel flatbelt pulleys for the H and M? OUCH!
