magneto or battery ignition?

Hi all

I think this is a magneto, but would like confirmation. Also can anyone recommend a wiring harness kit to convert to 12 volt alternator with magneto ignition? I have a 48 farmall M with the 4 pos. switch

Mag it is.
This will do it. Choose either the oil pressure switch to make it automatic, or the toggle which requires you to turn it on and off with the tractor. Jim

Yep looks like a mag to me. Very simple you set up an alternator on one like that as long as you can remember to turn it back off or get sorry to say this a 1 wire alternator. I almost never tell people to get a 1 wire bit when you have a mag it is the easiest way to do it

Ya I have done those in the past but since I did not have a diagram figured I'd go with the 1 wire
