Once again i find im being sent to collage about buying what i thought was a good easly fixed cheap tractor?? The injecter/pump man said look long and hard at the head before we spend more of your money! The man at the clean/magniflux/mill shop said about 90% are cracked and showed me in advance where he thought this one would be cracked.I asked about repair of crack and he said not good? Crack,if cracked is between the valve seats and i wonder about Nickle Welding Rod cold,no preheat?? Anyone/anywhere to buy a GOOD???? head from? Not quite ready for paint_Bud.

Where are you located. There is a place in Nevada, IA that welds up heads. I have had good luck with my 450 and 560 heads being welded by them. I believe Arnold's Motor now owns Nevada Cylinder Head Company.
Good Luck

Im in central Mich and i pickrd up a couple of leads for weld shops within 100 miles.I asked the local machinest who can fix anything and he was spooked! The thing also had a leaking head gasket but once all the fires were lit it ran very good? Bud.
