Oil Seal on Farmall A Fan Hub

The fan hub on my A leaks on the back side, and I can find no seal on the hub shaft or in the parts diagrams. Any suggestions?

There isn't a seal, just a "helix" that "screws" the oil back away from the outer end of the fanhub bore.

If it leaks it's either overfull of oil or worn out.

These don't have a shaft seal that amounts to anything. They are designed that way. Centrifugal force keeps the oil away from the shaft. If it is assembled correctly and not overfilled with oil, it should not leak. There is a little stand pipe in the fill hole to get the correct level. Fill it with oil with the fill hole at the horizontal level. Then turn the fill hole down and let the excess drain out. The stand pipe determines the correct level. Put the plug back in and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the comments. I probably overfilled it, and in the meantime, my owner"s manual arrived so I"m good to go.
