2444 with 2000 loader stalling

I am thinking of buying this tractor (2444) I looked at it the other day and started it up (gasser) it started pretty good, might need a tune/adjustments, let it run for a few minutes and went to use the loader functions (ih2000) with the tractor at a low idle and even mid throttle the tractor would stall. Do you think it was not warmed up enough (it was maybe 45-50 degrees F out) or do these need ran at wot for the hydraulics? side note it has a front mount pump for loader. thanks Chris

Their is a school of thought that a good hyd. pump will kill a tractor engine at an idle at the end of a cyl. stroke. A wore out pump will not. I heard this from a mechanic/backhoe operator about 30 years ago and this has been my experence also. Armand

good advice but this wasnt at the end of the stroke.

My 2424 really loads the engine anytime I use the hydraulics, even without bottoming a cylinder. I think yours has two pumps, just like mine.

I have a 2444 and it did the same thing. Stall when you accelerate. I rebuilt the carb thinking that must be the problem. I got the tractor manual out and the tractor did not have a fuel pump like the book called for. It was gravity flow. I put an electric fuel pump in the line and no problem since.
