Where do you buy your tires?

Want to replace my rears on the Cub Loboy. I see there is a place on ebay in TN that sells a lot of tires for low prices...which makes me a little nervous honestly. Who sells the best tires for the price in your opinion?

I've had good luck with Tucker Tire out of TN. Good tires, good prices and reasonable shipping costs.
I've also used Miller Tire, a company that specializes in tires for older tractors, with good results. I found that Miller's prices were a little higher for what I was looking for however, they delivered to a tractor show I was going to attend at no cost so......
LOL

miller tire is great. Little high but if they are at a show close by then you save on shipping. I am close to them but i think you can get better shipping prices then if I pick them up and have them shipped to you.

Miller is great, agreed. Prices in this case are a lot higher with them though. They are about two hours from me so pickup is not convenient and the shipping is still pretty high. I do buy rims and tires from them from time to time though.

Tucker is the company on e-bay. Tires for $100 a pop plus shipping is hard to beat...so hard, in fact, that it made me nervous. They have good feedback though. Have to give it some thought whilst I wait on anyone else who cares to comment.

where ae you in mi? Iam going to lansing the end of the week and makbe hasting next month. to save on shipping we can meet some where if that works out for you. Ilove helping others out

About 45 minutes from Lansing. An easy drive if it works out. Got a couple calls into local dealers just on spec so let's see what comes of that first. Appreciate the offer and will take you up on it if Miller is the winner in this.

Dave just what size are you wanting to get and what will you do with them after you get them. tHE 8.3X24 will last as long as the tractor IF you have the 7in rims. They do look good when done but do you know just what rime you do have and how to measure. There has been replacement rims bought over the yrs and just what size are they.

They dont have original rear rims so just what size rims do you have. Miller does have a great 8.3x24 tread if you have the 7in rims. Do you want some original ones.

Just go to Green Oak Tire right down the road from you, hard to believe you are going to save that much by the time you drive all over the state for such a cheap tire anyways. I either go to Green Oak or Randy's Service in Fowlerville. Green Oak are good people to deal with, when I have a break down in the field while doing hay they know how important that is and they drop everything they are doing and get a truck out there.

Try your local sources first. They may surprise you.

Don't expect a big city tire dealer to do tractor tires, though. They can order them, but you will pay for the privilege. You gotta get out into where the farms are to find tractor tire dealers, where they keep them in stock and buy them by the truckload.

Hey Ray! (no pun intended)

Haven't seen you around here in a while. I was way ahead of you. Just came back with my rims from from Green Oak late this afternoon. Dropping them off at the blaster tomorrow. Meanwhile, in my scrounging around, a fella has offered me a set of used rears that are decent enough to get it thru winter until I make a decision on it's fate.

How's it going Gene? I have good 7" rims, no mistake. Much to my surprise I did not get the "swiss cheese" comparison from the dealer. The tires are Goodyear 8-24. I half regret taking these tires off for painting. The inside of the rims are excellent with hardly any rust. Look a sight better than the outside!

Dave, when I restored my Super C I wanted Firestone 151 Field and Road tires only. I checked with several tire dealers and they all wanted the Firestone MSRP of $395 each. I checked with a small used tractor and equipment dealer in a small town about 40 miles away as I was going through the area and saw he had tires as well. He didn't have the size (11.2 X 36) in stock but said he would order them for me at his cost and $25 extra for the pair. As I recall his cost delivered the next week was $315 each. I was very pleased with the price and service he provided even though I had to go back to get them the following week. Give the little local out of the way folks a shot at your business and you might juat be surprised, Hal.
