How to jack up the front on narrow front H

Sorry, this may seem like a silly question, but how do you jack up the front of a narrow front H so that you can remove the tires? I don't see a good point to place a floor jack on the front half of the tractor.

I don't have a hoist, only a floor jack and an engine hoist.

Thanks,

Mike.

Use wood blocks to build a pile up and then a bottle jack just behind the front wheels or as the others have said if only doing one at a time a 2X6 etc works well unless you have 2 flats then that does not work either

(quoted from post at 10:46:57 11/03/10) OK...glad I asked. I never would've thought to drive them up on wood like that.

Thanks everyone!

Mike.

Don't feel bad, when repainting the wheels on my H, I must have stared at the front of it for 45 minutes trying to think of a simple way to jack it up with the floor jack I had at the time, before it hit me to just drive it up onto a piece of 2x4

Also if on front wheel falls off for some odd reason say the bearing went bad etc. and you have a job to finish just pick up that wheel and keep going. BTDT one time on a tractor when baling hay. I just set the tire/wheel to the side and kept on baling the hay

This is presuming your tractor has the narrow front-double wheel option.
Loosen the bolts/nuts first on 1 wheel and then drive the opposite wheel onto a 2 x 4. Repeat for the opposite side.

No you can use the same process on a John Deere with roll-a-matic, just need higher block to drive up on...BTDT and have the teeshirt lol.

Yep, it takes enough blocks and ramp that you may as well use a jack. :!:

I've used an engine hoist before. Then someone mentioned the wood method which would have worked too, but of course I didn't have any wood lying around anyway.
