Just saw it. Never saw it before. Dad had a 48 for several years, and I know he didnt know about it either. Whats it for? How much and how often should I grease it?

Whats it for well there are bearings there so you need to grease them as for how much a couple of pumps will be enough. As for how often depends on how much you use it. The owners manual if you have one will say. I do not have an owners manual so I can not fill that info in for you

The manual sez not to apply more than two strokes from the lubricator; grease it weekly or after every 60 hours. My H only sees a little under 60 hours per annum. I give it about one stroke in the spring & make sure to give it one in the fall. I squeeze real slow on the gun handle until I feel a bit of back pressure. If you put too much in, or pass the point of resistance, you run the risk of getting grease in the cooling system.

Guess ive found what that zerk was for. Bearings went out of pump. How do I take the fan off of the shaft. Does the pulleys stay with the new pump or do they come off also. If they do, How? Ive loosened the nut on the fan spring mounting and banged on it awhile, and figured id better find out what needs to be done before I break that cast piece. Thanks,.

The fan should come right off after removing t-bar, 2 spring studs, and 2 bolts. The bearings are located insisde the pulley. Pull it off over the center water pump tube and knock them out with a punch and hammer. Replace both o rings when you are finished replacing the bearings.
